Tertiary care and medical research centers in Research Triangle Park, which includes Duke University and UNC School of Medicine. Slightly more than an hour away are: North Carolina beaches Internationally-acclaimed golf courses in Pinehurst, located in the county next door North Carolina also proudly claims the Blue Ridge Mountains with fantastic fall foliage, plus snow skiing here and in neighboring states.
