Other providers include 2 Family Practice physicians and a Physician Assistant.  Clinic visits average about 20 patients/day and about 1 1/2 patients/day in the ER.

Wheatland Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed CAH  with a rural clinic and is the most technology-advanced facility of its size in the state.  As part of a joint pilot project, the hospital has a Telepharmacy Department, the first of its kind in the state of Montana. This allows the local community to have their prescriptions filled by a pharmacist 90 miles away and dispensed in the hospital by the system's secure cabinet. Our Diagnostic Imaging Department now offers Ultra Sound procedures, Dexa Scan (bone densitometer) and CT Scan services.  Other departments include Activities, Social Services, Clinical Laboratory, Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging, Physical Therapy, 24-hour Emergency Room, Central Supply, as well as the usual support services.  Most referrals are sent to St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings. 

The hospital is the largest employer with agriculture, sheep and cattle and new manufacturing growth playing a part in the economy of Wheatland County and Harlowton.  Montana's largest wind farm is also located in the area. 

Harlowton is located in central Montana amongst the Big Snowy, Little Belts, Castle and Crazy Mountains.  The town population is just under 1,000 with nearly 2,000 in the 1400 square mile county.  Outdoor recreation abounds in our area with big game and bird hunting, fishing in the Mussellshell River and mountain lakes, hiking, camping, biking and river floating.  Harlowton is within easy driving distance to many of Montana's larger cities.  Billings is 60 miles to the southeast, Bozeman 105 miles to the southwest and Great Falls is 120 miles to the northwest.
