The
flagship Level I tertiary care, 480-bed teaching hospital is the
home of the St. Luke's Cancer Center. The center is equipped with
state-of-the-art technologies and the highly skilled cancer care
team required for the highest quality patient care. This state
of the art facility features 34 single-bed rooms for oncology
inpatients, plus a freestanding hospice for the terminally ill.


The Cancer Center accessions 2,000 new cancer cases per year,
has a solid infrastructure for clinical trials and has necessary
research facilities on site.
Twenty medical oncologists, four radiation oncologists, a thoracic
surgeon and three surgical oncologists complement the Gynecologic
Oncology service.

St. Luke's recently broke ground for a 100,000-square foot dedicated
outpatient cancer facility at St. Luke's Riverside in Bethlehem
Township. The anticipated opening is 2009. This center will be
the first in a complex of premier health care facilities to be
developed on approximately 200 acres of prime real estate owned
by St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network. The center will feature
the newest technologies and attract patients from throughout eastern
Pennsylvania and western New Jersey and beyond, and will focus
on cancer prevention as well as treatment.

St. Luke's also recently made a $7 million investment in a new
17,000-square foot outpatient cancer center in Allentown. The
facility provides state-of- the-art radiation therapy technology,
a spacious and comfortable infusion area, an on-site lab and pharmacy,
and physician offices.
