SHRINERS HOSPITALS FOR CHILDREN Shriners Hospitals for Children in Shreveport, the world's first
Shriners Hospital, seeks a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon for the
45-bed hospital in northwest Louisiana. The position will join
two board-certified pediatric orthopaedic surgeons, two hand surgeons,
pediatric intensivist, rheumatologist, and a host of pediatric
specialty consultants in an active, well-established practice
with an 85-year history of orthopaedic excellence.
Specializing in orthopaedic conditions including scoliosis, cerebral
palsy, spina bifida, osteogenesis imperfecta, and limb deficiencies,
the Shreveport Shriners Hospital provides over 650 surgeries each
year. Over 1,000 children are admitted annually, with 13,000
visits to a newly renovated and expanded outpatient clinic. The
hospital boasts the area's only Motion Analysis Lab for gait mapping
and diagnosis, and features innovative adaptive therapy environments,
in-house orthotics staff, and a seven-member Child Life team.
Located adjacent to LSU Health Sciences Center, the practice provides
a collegiate atmosphere through resident training programs and
education affiliations with multiple universities. Academic appointments
are available based upon experience.
