WOMEN & INFANTS HOSPITAL OF RHODE ISLAND The Center for Women's GI Disorders at Women & Infants' Hospital
in Providence, Rhode Island is seeking two gastroenterologists
to join the three present gastroenterologists. A strong interest
in women's gastrointestinal disorders would be important. A clinical
based position and/or a translational research position would
be available based on the direction and desire of the candidate.
This is a time of growth within gender based biology and medicine
and the Center for Women's GI Disorders is at the forefront of
this mission with the Uro/gyn physicians, nutritionists, colorectal
surgeons and ob/gyn physicians at Women & Infants' Hospital.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease, incontinence and pelvic floor concerns
are a large part of this program as well as ob/gyn patients with
GI complications. The Center provides one of the few female endoscopy
suites in the country and is received with great enthusiasm from
the women in the community. Through collaboration with Warren
Alpen School of Medicine at Brown University gastroenterology
fellows rotate through the Center with the goal to specifically
train new leaders in the field of women's GI disorders. A flexible
schedule is available for the incoming physician with a full staff
available including two nurse practitioners and a nurse educator.
This will be an employed position through Women & Infants' Hospital
with an academic appointment provided by Brown University School
of Medicine at the assistant or associate level commensurate with
experience. This position will allow you the perfect mix of private
practice and academics and a true work/life balance within the
dynamic environment of The Center of Women's GI Disorders. Rhode Island is the smallest state, yet has 400 miles of coastline
along the Narragansett Bay with over 100 public and private beaches.
This slice of New England offers a wide range of cultural, sporting,
and recreational events. The entire state including the magnificent
Narragansett Bay, the Blackstone River Valley, and the jewel,
Providence, are all less than one hour apart. Historic Brown
University and the Rhode Island School of Design sit on the "East
Side" in Providence and provide a university setting just minutes
from Women & Infant's Hospital. Cultural events include the concert
series on the waterfront and very diverse neighborhood festivals.
Sports fans can watch the "Paw Sox", a Triple A team for Boston
and the New England Patriots are within driving distance. Sailing,
cruising and fishing on the Bay provide water recreation. Come
