Kittitas Valley Community Hospital TeamHealth is seeking a full-time medical director for this 14,000-volume ED in eastern Washington. We provide single coverage in 12-hour shifts. The primary referral centers are Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital and Yakima Regional Medical. The admission rate is 15 percent, and the transfer rate is 5 percent. The ED has 8 patient care rooms, of which 5 are monitored. Ancillary services include 24 hour lab, X-ray, CT, and ultrasound. Cardiac ECHO is available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm; pharmacists are available 6 am to 9 pm, 7 days a week; in-house respiratory therapy is available from 6 am to 10 pm and on call during other hours. Nursing support includes two nurses on duty from 7 am to 11 pm and one nurse on duty 11 pm to 7 am. Nestled just east of the Cascade Mountains and north of the Stuart Mountains, Ellensburg experiences only about 9 inches of precipitation a year, more than 300 days of sunshine, and 4 distinct seasons. Ellensburg is in the heart of the beautiful Kittitas Valley, where year-round recreational activities can be enjoyed by all. Spend a day golfing at the new Suncadia Prospector Golf Course, or maybe water skiing on the Yakima River, or fly fishing and family rafting in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. In the winter, enjoy these American Alps by snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. Travel scenic back roads for a great day of driving along the Yakima River, or take a favorite short cut to either Oregon or California. The historic downtown hosts six blocks of brick buildings that have been restored and now house fine restaurants, antique stores, art galleries, and unique locally owned shops along side downtown hardware stores, sporting goods, clothing, and drug stores.
