Samaritan Healthcare - Moses Lake TeamHealth is seeking a full-time staff physician for this 13,000-volume ED that features 12-hour shifts, 10 hours of PA/NP coverage, and a 12 percent admission rate. The physician will see an average of 1.25 patients per hour. Samaritan Healthcare serves a 75,000 population area with 32,000 in the immediate local area. The average number of patients arriving by ambulance per day is 6, with the average number of monthly hospital admissions from the ED at 135. The ED is comprised of 9 rooms and 10 beds, including a trauma/cardiac room, 2 cardiac bays, a pediatric room, casting room, OB room, 2 minor medical rooms, and a mental health room. Ancillary services include 24-hour availability of radiology, CT, ultrasound, laboratory, respiratory therapy. MRI is available off-site. The ED is fully staffed with RNs; a CNA/HUC is staffed 24/7; and a house supervisor (RN) is available 24/7. Each shift has a core group of nurses who have been at Samaritan for 10 years or more. The town of Moses Lake lies on the shores of its namesake in beautiful eastern Washington. The 6,500-acre lake is part of the Columbia River basin and is more than 18 miles long, up to a mile wide, and boasts more than 120 miles of shoreline. It is a wonderful environment for hunting, bird watching, boating, and a host of other outdoor activities. The city offers parks, an amphitheater, aquatic center, farmers market, and a museum noted for its Native American collection.
