Mount Carmel Health System is currently in search of a full-time Palliative Care Physician who is available to practice in mid 2010 for its established, nationally recognized Palliative Care and Hospice programs. Physician component comprised of 4.6 FTE Palliative/Hospice physicians, 2 FTE Palliative Nurse Practitioners, 2 FTE Nurse Clinicians. Mount Carmel is a four hospital system, three having Palliative Care Units totaling 19 beds. This physician would provide hospice home visiting, inpatient palliative consultation, and medical oversight of hospice home program. On-call responsibility shared by the physicians and nurse practitioners. Mount Carmel Hospice serves an ADC 200 patients; Mount Carmel Palliative Care serves approximately 2000 patients per year and is a CAPC Palliative Care Leadership Center; and due to our extensive database, we participate in publishing and research. Qualified candidate must have completed residency in an ACGME accredited program. Prefer two or more years of experience including hospice and palliative consultations, policy development, adult medical education. BC/BE in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, or Fellowship Training.
